Summary
In the 2014-2016 timeframe, 1EdTech collaborated with IDPF and W3C on the EPUB for Education effort, intended to bring a profile of EPUB with support for 1EdTech standards integration to the educational publishing market. In January 2017, IDPF combined with W3C, and since then activities have continued in the W3C EPUB 3 Community Group, as well as in the EPUB for Education Working Group at 1EdTech.
In May 2018, the 1EdTech working group published the EPUB State and Results specification for 1EdTech member review and feedback in the forum. The standard provides a structured approach for supporting the passing of state and results data between an EPUB document and an EPUB Reading System. This standard based approach enables EPUB content authors to create interactive assessments and activities that can both save state and report results back to compliant Reading Systems.
