Hello,

QTI 2.1 do not describe the specific layout of the interaction. So generally it depends on the currently used rendering engine how it is display the different interaction forms. I have attatched to you a matchInteraction with 1:1 association (matchMax is 1 for each simpleMatchSet) with 4 text elements. Also I attached some screens of the rendering in the Onyx Testsuite, which is displayed the matchInteraction (1:1) as drag and drop item.

Regards
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne and Vishwa,

I need your help on couple of questions:

1. How we can make sure that a drag and drop item created in one item authoring system when imported in delivery system or any other item authoring system appears as drag and drop item?
example: if I have selected matchInteraction for an item, and create an item with drag and drop functionality, how I can make sure that it appears as a drag and drop item in every qti compliant system?

2. Is it so that if we have selected one of the following interaction types then it means it will be a drag and drop item?
- graphicorderinteraction
- graphicgapmatchinteraction
- graphicassociateinteraction

Thanks
Aseem

Hi Aseem

The QTI specification does not prescribe exactly how an interaction is rendered. A matchInteraction is often rendered as a matrix, i.e. a grid of radio buttons or checkboxes, but may be shown as a list with a drop-down menu beside each option, or indeed as a drag and drop, but that depends on the rendering engine. Using the graphic interactions it is more likely that your item will be rendered as a drag and drop. However, in all cases, there may be different ways of displaying items depending on the user's needs if APIP is involved.

Hope this helps
Sue
