The
K-12 Digital Learning Revolution Program is the work of 70+ 1EdTech Consortium member school districts and state departments of education—representing over 11 million students—with substantive experience and knowledge about what it takes to implement and scale integrated learning technologies.
It’s called the Revolution program because it enables both an evolution to digital and provides the foundation for making significant—revolutionary—advancements in teaching and learning.
Your district does
not need to be an 1EdTech member to be a part of the digital learning revolution. But you do need to make the commitment to purchasing 1EdTech certified products in order to establish a plug-and-play ecosystem. We're here to help!

Do we have to “do” the program in a particular order?
While the parts of the program are presented in a way that could be used as a roadmap for building your district’s digital ecosystem, districts are encouraged to customize an implementation plan to their district’s needs.

What does my district need to consider before using the Digital Revolution Program?
This program is designed to help districts create a roadmap or strategic plan for integrating instructional technology software systems which leads to better teaching and learning experiences for teachers and students. Like any strategic planning process, it is important that all key stakeholders are involved in and agree to the plan. 1EdTech understands K-12 institutions have made a great investment in the tools and content currently in use and that change will be gradual and strategically timed to have the least negative impact on users.
My district is focusing on simplifying rostering and access to resources, what resources do you have to help us?
The Foundation aspect of the program helps districts solve the burden of creating and updating rosters for all those different learning applications and offers solutions for establishing a trusted connection between applications for ongoing transfer of data while providing a single sign-on user experience. Teachers in our district are frustrated by the number of places which capture assignment and grades data, is there a way to bring those results together in one place?
The Instructional Impact aspect of the Revolution program offers guidance to help districts with a means for collecting assignment scores and grades across a wide array of digital resources in a single place of record as well as enabling the integration of a variety of summative and formative assessment products, including third-party item banks, to provide educators with actionable data to inform student interventions and instruction. Commitment
We are in the process of developing a request for proposal. What should we keep in mind?
Requiring 1EdTech standards and conformance certification ensures that software works together with the least time and cost to implement. It’s also important to know that 1EdTech certification expires after one year so K-12 institutions should set the expectation that suppliers stay current on certification. 1EdTech K-12 members have created and shared
RFP language and resources to help all K-12 institutions, regardless of membership. K-12 members receive an added benefit of 1EdTech staff providing RFP response review and feedback.

OneRoster standard solves the problem of having to create unique roster files for each supplier by defining a common set of roster data, field names and processes for managing the rostering process. The 1EdTech
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard offers a simple and easy to use solution for connecting learning platforms and tools, confirming the right users get access to the appropriate resources and exchanging authentication information.

How can my district share badges that are portable and verifiable?
The Advanced Insights and Achievement component of the Revolution program offers districts ways to present achievements that are verifiable and portable to help learners differentiate their career-readiness in an increasingly competitive world as well as a way to digitally represent and report a learner’s academic and co-curricular record, and makes it easier for learners to share their achievements with prospective employers. 1EdTech’s
