Jeff Plaman is a career educator interested in the intersection of technology and the art of teaching. His career has taken him from Minnesota to Germany, China, Singapore and back again across disciplines that include Science, Technology, Adult Learning, and Coaching. His current work at the Minnesota Department of Education is focused on supporting schools and districts provide high-quality digital learning options for all learners with a particular focus on the State’s network of 36 independent online schools. Jeff is a member of the Innovation Leader’s Network for Credentials with 1EdTech and is interested in leveraging the Open Badge Standard together with the Comprehensive Learner Record to integrate formal and non-formal learning and illuminate pathways for learners to career and further education opportunities. Jeff holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in Secondary Life Science Education from Minnesota State University Mankato.
