1EdTech Consortium Announces Organizations and Products that Have Achieved Assessment Conformance Certification

 

Leading e-assessment suppliers submit their solutions to achieve conformance certification to 1EdTech APIP™ and QTI™ standards

Lake Mary, Florida, USA – 17 March 2014 – The 1EdTech Consortium, the world’s leading educational technology standards setting collaborative, today announces the leading e-assessment suppliers and products that have successfully achieved conformance certification to the 1EdTech Accessible Portable Item Protocol™ (APIP™) and Question and Test Interoperability™ (QTI™) standards.

As announced in a previous press release (1 October 2013 /pressreleases/pr131001.html), assessment suppliers agreed to a first ever e-assessment interoperability challenge featuring a commitment to complete conformance certification requirements by 28 February 2014. The following systems successfully achieved certification to the respective conformance profiles of the APIP or QTI specifications.
APIP conformance:

  • Educational Testing Service: TOMS v3.0.0.0 PNP system (APIP v1.0 PNP Core Compliant) and Sample Students’ Instances v1.0 (APIP v1.0 PNP Content Core Compliant)
  • Computerized Assessments and Learning: CA&L Test Delivery system v2.3 (APIP v1.0 Delivery Entry Compliant)
  • Pacific Metrics: Unity v1.9 (APIP v1.0 PNP Core Compliant, APIP v1.0 Item Test Bank Import Compliant)

QTI conformance:

  • BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH: ONYX Editor v5.3.1 (QTIv2.1 Authoring Compliant, QTIv2.1 Delivery Compliant, QTIv2.1 Item Test Bank Compliant)
  • Northwest Evaluation Association: Formative Assessment Item Bank v14.1 (QTI v2.1 Item Test Bank Compliant) and NWEA SCIP v14.1 (QTI v2.1 Content Compliant)

These products have also been entered as finalists in a special Assessment portion of the 1EdTech Learning Impact Awards held during the 2014 Learning Impact Leadership Institute 5-8 May 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA /learningimpact2014/. Winners will be determined by a panel of evaluators consisting of end-users representing states and institutions.


In addition to the awards ceremony, the Learning Impact Leadership Institute also features a track session on digital assessment that highlights the latest in how the 1EdTech Community is leading change with respect to eAssessment item, test and data innovation. The session includes a panel discussion featuring U.S. Race to the Top Assessment consortia: Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC), Partnership for Assessment of Readiness of College and Careers (PARCC), World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA), English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century (ELPA21), and the National Center and State Collaborative (NCSC).
