1EdTech refactor the QTIv2.1 XSD to improve code generation tool support
Refactored QTIv2.1 XSD
Hi All,
We, IMS, are busy refactoring the QTIv2.1 Public Draft XSD to improve its use with code generation tools.
At present we are still testing the new XSD while fixing issues/adding minor refinements that need to be addressed for the Final Release.
The QTI Project Group meet on 15th June after which we should be able to make the new XSD available. It is this new XSD that will also be used as the basis for the two QTIv2.1 profiles (including that for Common Cartridge).
The 15th June meeting has resulted in a lot of further work on the new XSD. The aim is to ensure that the HTML features (block, inline, group) and the QTI interactions are consistently used. This will require a reworking of the XSD but not change the functionality (except where it imposes new sensible constraints).
Hence, the new XSD will not now be available for external consumption until August.
IMS has been working on a new version of QTI, version 3.0, that will be released as a Public Candidate Final in the coming weeks. You can see a brief list of new features here: https://www.imsglobal.org/qti-versions

Are you done testing?
Any news on this?
Yes
