Caliper and xAPI Discovery Review

Pugliese Joins 1EdTech Board of Directors

Lou Pugliese, Senior Innovation Fellow and Managing Director of the Teaching and Learning Action Lab at Arizona State University, has been appointed to the 1EdTech Board of Directors. Over the past twenty years, Lou has developed a strong track record managing growth stage businesses and acquiring and developing a number of education organizations. Lou was recently former Chairman and CEO of Moodlerooms. Prior to Moodlerooms, Pugliese was President of Learning Diagnostics Inc., a consulting practice providing strategic planning in Business Intelligence in academic and administrative information architecture. As board member, he will draw on his track record in representing the 1EdTech membership as a whole and its diverse interests.

New Bootcamp: Implementing & Certifying to the Latest LTI Services

On Tuesday, August 16 we will be conducting an all new bootcamp to help developers understand and implement the new LTI Messages and Services. We’re also going to step through the use cases for when and why organizations should implement the latest specifications, including LTI Basic Outcomes, Content Item, and Membership Services, and the newest Outcomes Management 2. These services will become mandatory for many products to achieve LTI certification in the future, so don’t miss out on this valuable one-day LTI boot camp. Agenda details and to register.

Welcome Joaquin Alvarez

We would like to introduce you to Joaquin Alvarez who has joined 1EdTech as Institutional Program Manager K-12. In his role, Joaquin will work closely with K-12 districts to facilitate collaboration via the K-12 Institutional Executive Board and the K-12 Communities of Practice to influence the development of 1EdTech standards and practices to solve real world problems that districts are facing. Joaquin comes to us from the NYC Department of Education where he was the Director for their School Technology Strategy. Learn more.

Seeking Senior Software Engineer / API Lead

1EdTech is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer / API Lead to work closely with 1EdTech members to answer technical questions and provide API integration support on 1EdTech specifications. Successful candidate will work with the specification architects to develop and maintain reference API’s and GitHub code libraries to help increase the member’s adoption of the standards. Additionally, this person will develop needed software development processes and identify development tools to be used in the 1EdTech Development Community.
